Currently, Tyler is Head of Communications at CLEAR (NYSE: YOU), the secure identity company. Before that, he was director of communications at Tech:NYC, a nonprofit network of 800+ founders, investors, and tech workers committed to fostering a dynamic, diverse, and creative New York.
Prior to joining Tech:NYC, Tyler was deputy director of the flagship New York City hub of New America, a public policy think tank and civic enterprise committed to renewing American politics, prosperity, and purpose in the Digital Age.
Before that, Tyler served at the United States Congress, Obama for America, and the Georgia Political Review. In 2012, he was named a Millennial Values Fellow at Georgetown University's Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs, and in 2013, was named the recipient of the Postgraduate Research Prize at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. His writing has appeared in TIME, Pacific Standard, Salon, and Mic, among other publications.
Tyler holds a Bachelor's degree in Comparative Politics from the University of Georgia and a Master's degree from the Center for Art and Public Policy at New York University.
He also serves as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for NewYorkRep, an off-Broadway theatre company supporting artists committed to social change.
